Kevin Sefcik is entering his 12th season as Marist’s varsity head coach and brings more than 50 years of playing and coaching experience to the program. A former Major League infielder with the Philadelphia Phillies, he appeared in 425 MLB games over seven seasons, compiling a .275 career batting average and delivering memorable performances, including a two- home-run game against the Mets in 1998. Since taking over at Marist in 2015, Coach Sefcik has led the RedHawks to eight regional titles and a sectional championship while developing 45 college-bound players and five future professionals. A former collegiate All-American and 2021 ESCC Coach of the Year, he brings professional-level insight, experience, and passion to every practice.

Basketball camp for boys entering 1st-4th grades.  Camp will be run by the RedHawk coaching staff led by Brian Hynes and current and former players.  Camp will focus on basic FUNdamentals of basketball like dribbling, passing, defense, and lay-up shooting.  The camp will also include basketball related games to enhance and emphasize the skills being taught.

Learn the basics of performing on camera and shooting videos. At the end of camp, parents and friends will be able to watch a compilation of the campers' performances which will posted on our YouTube channel, MHS Studio Chicago.

Chess camp will allow students to explore and improve their chess skills.  During our camp students will learn different openings and strategies to navigate the board.  Also, some alternate chess games will be introduced to add to the importance and fun of chess.

Distance Running camp will prepare the focus on runners who are looking to run the 800 or mile in Track and cross country in the Fall season. This will be the start to summer running to build strength and endurance for the distance events. Sessions will include information about nutrition, training, racing, and team building. All incoming Freshman who plan to join cross country are highly encouraged to attend.

Incoming freshman football camp to prepare athletes for the fall season. Camp will include strength and speed training, football fundamentals, and installation of Marist football schemes. 

Camp will be held as follows: 

In June, camp will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on the following dates: June 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th.

In July, camp will be held from 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on the following dates July 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th, and 31st.

In August, camp will be held 3:00pm - 5:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday August 5 - 8. 

No camp the week of July 4th.

Coach Mike Fitzgerald brings more than 22 years of high school and collegiate coaching experience and a proven track record of building championship-caliber programs. A former All-Conference wide receiver and Academic All-American at Lake Forest College, Coach Fitz has led multiple teams to record-breaking seasons, conference titles, and state playoff runs. He has developed hundreds of collegiate football players, including multiple Players of the Year, and is passionate about mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. Coach Fitzgerald, along with his staff and current players, looks forward to sharing his knowledge, energy, and love for the game during this three-day camp.

Step behind the yellow tape and enter the world of forensic science! This hands-on, coed camp transforms students into lead investigators. From the microscopic world of DNA to the macroscopic study of a crime scene, campers will use chemistry, biology, and physics to piece together puzzles that the naked eye can’t see.

Athletes of all sorts including football, basketball, soccer, and hockey players make the transition to lacrosse in the spring throughout the area. Marist High School head coach, Chaas Collins and members of the his staff, will work alongside players to improve fundamental techniques and develop advanced lacrosse skill sets. Players looking to excel at the next level will work on individual skills in small competitive groups, and large group game situations. All phases of the game will be addressed during the camp, and players will feel more confident in their improved knowledge of the game and individual skills.

Camp is open to all skill level and positions. Campers should bring their own sticks, helmets, gloves, shoulder and arm pads, and mouth guards. Goalies are encouraged to attend.

Lacrosse is the fastest game on two feet and is also the fastest growing sport in the country. It combines the best of football, basketball, hockey, and soccer. During this camp, you will learn techniques and drills to improve your game... passing and catching, stick handling/cradling, dodging, shooting, defensive techniques and footwork, strength, conditioning, and speed, sportsmanship. Camp necessities: full lacrosse gear and cleats.

Do you like current events?  Do you like foreign affairs?  This camp will teach you about the United Nations, what it is, and what it does.  Join us for 4 days as we have fun researching current topics being discussed in the United Nations.  On the final day, each delegate will deliver an impassioned speech about a global topic and its effects on a country around the world.

The Marist RedHawk Kiddie camp will cover the basic fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting, pitching, catching, and base running. Whether you’re looking to shave seconds off your 100m dash or just want to be the fastest player on the track, field, or court the Speed Camp is designed to build a foundational "need for speed." We bridge the gap between raw talent and refined technique, tailored specifically for the developmental needs of elementary, middle school, and high school athletes.

Track and Field camp will introduce campers to both the running and the field events of track and field.  Athletes will learn the fundamentals of sprinting, endurance running, speed training, block starts, and relay baton passing.  Athletes will learn the basics of jumping and throwing field events, including long jump and triple jump, high jump, shot put, and discus.   We might even do some pole vault.  This is not a specialty camp.  Everyone tries everything! High School student-athletes will be present and participate in this camp.
