The jump to high school band is about more than just harder music—it’s about becoming part of a legacy. Whether you’re preparing for your first competitive marching season or aiming for a top-tier symphonic chair, the Freshman Prelude is your "insider’s guide" to high school success. This coed camp blends technical mastery with the social connections that make band the best part of high school.

Summer camp fee $150.00 Cash only.  Payment should be provided on the first day of camp by each participant.

At our camp, we will be learning new music and will perform a concert at the end of the camp for family and friends. This is a wonderful opportunity to play with students from different schools and make new friends while creating music together! This camp is open to ALL grade school students entering grades 4-8 with band experience. The cost for the camp is $100, which will include the cost of music, instruction and a t-shirt. All students will need to bring their own instrument. If you are a percussionist or tuba player, we will provide instruments for you. The concert will be held on Thursday, June 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the Theater and should end around 6:45 p.m. at the latest. Spectators are invited.

Over the last eighteen seasons, Marist basketball has over 320 victories, including an average of over 20 wins per season for the last fifteen years.  During this time, the RedHawks have won 6 regional championships, 23 tournament championships, and an ESCC title in 2017.  In the last fifteen years, 10 players have gone on to play at the Division I level, including Jimmy Griffin '05 (Samford), Mitchell Bouie '06 (Central Connecticut State), Jeremy Nash '06 (Northwestern), Nick Valla '10 (Missouri State),  LJ McIntosh '13 (Texas Pan-American), Lexus Williams '13 (Valparaiso), Nic Weishar '14 (University of Notre Dame-football), Jeremiah Ferguson '15 (Youngstown State) and Justin Brown '17 (Tennessee-Chattanooga).  The staff (including current players and alumni of the program) will work with the campers to help improve each players' overall basketball skills in a fun, engaging, and exciting environment.  Shorts, shirt, socks, and good gym shoes are needed.  A camp shirt is included.

This camp is designed to introduce students to the world of broadcasting and video production by using real world TV equipment in our MHS Studio. Learn the basics of performing on camera and shooting videos. At the end of camp, parents and friends will be able to watch a compilation of the campers' performances which will posted on our YouTube channel, MHS Studio Chicago.

Marist's Running Camp offers young runners (6th through incoming freshmen) an introduction to the sport of distance running on the Track at Marist Campus.   It will help young runners to build a base by focusing on nutrition, stretching, and conditioning. The boys' program has garnered numerous titles over the years in track and cross country sending numerous teams and individuals downstate. Following the camps, weekly running is offered for interested students to help maintain conditioning. Bring a water bottle and good running shoes. Running Camp is highly encouraged and especially helpful for incoming freshmen wanting to run cross country in the Fall.

Coach Maslanka is a decorated endurance athlete and rising coaching talent at Marist. A sub-3-hour marathoner and ultramarathon finisher, he inspires athletes with his personal drive and competitive edge. Under his leadership, Marist Track earned ESCC Coach of the Year honors, a conference championship, and multiple state qualifiers. Whether it’s the track or the trails, Coach Maslanka knows how to go the distance.

Distance Running camp will prepare the focus on runners who are looking to run the 800 or mile in Track and cross country in the Fall season. This will be the start to summer running to build strength and endurance for the distance events. Sessions will include information about nutrition, training, racing, and team building. All incoming Freshman who plan to join cross country are highly encouraged to attend.

A proud Marist alumna and former collegiate runner, Coach Doyle stepped into the head coach role in 2024 after coaching alongside her mentor, Pat Quinn. As a student-athlete, she was part of the first girls’ team in school history to qualify for the state meet. Now, she leads the program with passion and purpose— committed to building on a strong legacy and guiding the next generation of RedHawk runners toward new milestones. This past year, she had her first state qualifier and looks to add many more qualifiers to her resume.

Incoming freshman football camp to prepare athletes for the fall season. Camp will include strength and speed training, football fundamentals, and installation of Marist football schemes. 

Camp will be held as follows: 

In June, camp will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on the following dates: June 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th.

In July, camp will be held from 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on the following dates July 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th, and 31st.

In August, camp will be held 3:00pm - 5:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday August 5 - 8. 

No camp the week of July 4th.

Coach Mike Fitzgerald brings more than 22 years of high school and collegiate coaching experience and a proven track record of building championship-caliber programs. A former All-Conference wide receiver and Academic All-American at Lake Forest College, Coach Fitz has led multiple teams to record-breaking seasons, conference titles, and state playoff runs. He has developed hundreds of collegiate football players, including multiple Players of the Year, and is passionate about mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. Coach Fitzgerald, along with his staff and current players, looks forward to sharing his knowledge, energy, and love for the game during this three-day camp.

Step behind the yellow tape and enter the world of forensic science! This hands-on, coed camp transforms students into lead investigators. From the microscopic world of DNA to the macroscopic study of a crime scene, campers will use chemistry, biology, and physics to piece together puzzles that the naked eye can’t see.

A 4-day "Guitar 101" intro course for students interested in learning how to play the acoustic guitar. No experience necessary. Guitars provided by Marist if needed by participant. We will learn the fundamentals (parts of a guitar, how it works, how to hold it) and then learn some simple chords and strumming patterns for beginners. Camp held in the Marist band room.

Athletes of all sorts including football, basketball, soccer, and hockey players make the transition to lacrosse in the spring throughout the area. Marist High School head coach, Chaas Collins and members of the his staff, will work alongside players to improve fundamental techniques and develop advanced lacrosse skill sets. Players looking to excel at the next level will work on individual skills in small competitive groups, and large group game situations. All phases of the game will be addressed during the camp, and players will feel more confident in their improved knowledge of the game and individual skills.

The hitting skills camp will cover all fundamentals of hitting, slapping, and base running at the Softball Field on Marist Campus. Campers will be instructed in all phases of becoming a better offensive softball player. The clinic will include small group instruction based on age and ability level, including individual swing analysis. Players will work on different drills each day and receive instruction from Coach Colleen Phelan, Coach Ashley Barry, current Varsity softball players, and successful alumni playing at the college level. The Marist RedHawk All Skills Camp will cover fundamentals from throwing and fielding to hitting and base running. The incoming freshman will work with our varsity coaching staff, successful alumni playing at the college level, as well as our current varsity players. Track and Field camp will introduce campers to both the running and the field events of track and field.  Athletes will learn the fundamentals of sprinting, endurance running, speed training, block starts, and relay baton passing.  Athletes will learn the basics of jumping and throwing field events, including long jump and triple jump, high jump, shot put, and discus.   We might even do some pole vault.  This is not a specialty camp.  Everyone tries everything! High School student-athletes will be present and participate in this camp.
