This summer camp will focus on preparing juniors and seniors to take the English and Reading portions of the new Enhanced ACT and SAT.  Note: Camp this year will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons.  Mr. Accardi began teaching test preparation classes at the College of DuPage in 2004 and has worked with students from Hinsdale Central, Naperville North, Riverside Brookfield, and St. Francis high schools over the last two decades to raise students’ scores on these standardized tests.  Students who register for this camp will learn how to attack challenging reading passages, the various grammar and punctuation rules these high-stakes exams always test for, how to budget their time wisely during the test, and how to peak for the test on the big day.  This summer camp will be capped at 30 students to ensure each student receives both large group lessons and individualized instruction.

This camp provides students an opportunity to work on their individual skills as well as to play popular music they enjoy. Students will work in sectionals and in a large ensemble setting. There will also be a concert at the conclusion of the week in the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center @ 11:15 a.m. on Friday, July 24.

This camp, run by the current coaching staff, is designed to teach athletes both the fundamental and the mental aspects of baseball. Through competitive, fun, and unique drills intended to raise one’s baseball I.Q., this camp will deliver the advanced knowledge of the game. Athletes will practice hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running. Players will learn about the Spartan program and tradition, and will have fun competitions at the end of the week. This camp is for players going into 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

The Beginning Guitar/Ukulele camp is aimed at students who wish to get started playing guitar/Ukulele. Students will focus on learning proper technique, musical elements, chords and reading tablature. Music will consist of songs students know such as the Beatles, Guns N Roses, Ed Sheeran, The Weekend, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and many more. Students will apply their skills immediately to popular music. Students will be exposed to both instruments separately at the camp. Guitars/Ukuleles are provided.

This camp is open to junior high athletes as well as high school athletes of varying running experience—from those who are just starting to run all the way up to those who aspire to become a state champion this fall!  Note: Camp this year will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.  We will meet at 8:00 A.M. on the St. Francis track approximately two days per week; the other day of the week we will meet at a local forest preserve or park.  Camp will always end at 10:00 A.M. whether we meet on or off campus.  The culmination of our camp is running the Detweiller at Dark race on the evening of July 24th.  (The registration fee for this race is already included in the price of the camp.)  Throughout the duration of the camp, athletes will be taught about the fundamentals of running—included but not limited to—proper running form, proper training shoes, proper racing spikes, race strategies, stretching, strength training, etc.  The camp will blend fun games as well as challenging workouts.  By the end of the camp, each athlete will be a stronger runner and be more knowledgeable about the sport of Cross Country.

The purpose of this camp is for percussionists to work together in an ensemble setting. The camp focuses on playing several different cadences and techniques that are applicable to a drumline. Students will receive an opportunity to play Snare drum, Bass drum, Quads, and Cymbals. In addition to classic drumline instruments students will also play a cadence on garbage cans and paint buckets. All equipment provided. Students must be members of the St. Francis band program.

Then, let us help you unravel the mysteries of the parts of speech, noun functions, and diagramming in the “Fun with Grammar” camp offered this summer at St. Francis. This is an eight-day class that will not only get you ready for freshman English but will also give you a head start at meeting other St. Francis freshmen. Come learn the basics of grammar or just review in a fun way through interactive games.

This camp combines skills development and scrimmage play, as age-specific techniques are taught to help players learn and refine their skills. Each session is designed to teach and perfect the basic stick skills of the game. Players will quickly gain confidence in catching, throwing, dodging, ground ball pickups, and shooting.  All participants must have certified girls’ mouth guards. A limited number of lacrosse sticks and goggles are available as loaners.

Marching Band Camp 2026

This camp provides students with experience in Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Vocals and Drumset to play in an ensemble setting. Students will work on playing a wide variety of popular music (Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, Paramore, Santana, Taylor Swift, etc).

Students will be able to use their individual skills with a group and make progress in rhythm, melody, balance, improvisation and other musical elements. Students should be proficient on their instrument. All equipment provided. Students must be enrolled in the 2026-2027 class, Music Ensemble.

This camp is for students entering 6th through 12th grade who wish to participate in backstage crew for the SFHS Summer Musical! Throughout this camp, students will learn the basics of theatrical stage crew: set design, tool use, set building, set painting, lighting, sound design, prop design, and costuming. Students will also be part of the SFHS Summer Musical running crew, which coordinates backstage work during tech rehearsals and each performance.   This summer’s musical title will be announced April 5th.

Join Mary Pratscher, a certified yoga instructor, as we learn yoga and meditation techniques to help us incorporate breathwork and movement into our daily lives. We will learn about and practice several yoga and meditation styles: hatha, vinyasa, restorative, nidra, guided meditation, body scan, and intention

setting. Please dress in comfortable clothes that allow you full range of movement. No yoga or meditation experience necessary!

Young Spartan Showcase 2026

The Young Spartan Showcase is a St. Francis High School sponsored summer camp for students entering third through sixth grade. Students will learn the foundational skills of acting, singing, and dancing, and they will PERFORM a one-act production on Wednesday, June 18th. The purpose of the YSS is to introduce various theatrical techniques to younger actors. Please note all campers will be cast in the show and will receive a T-shirt!
